“You Can’t Take It With You” is the title of the next play to be produced at Iowa River Players on Broadway Street in Rowan. Auditions will be held Sunday, June 9 at 5pm and Monday, June 10 at 7pm. with the performances scheduled for August 16-18 and 23-25. The cast of characters includes seven women and twelve men. While some roles in the play are quite sizable and demanding, other roles are practically walk-ons. Still others fall somewhere in between, so there is something for almost every acting acting aspiration and ages from 18 to 80.
Now considered a classic comedy, the play was written by Moss Hart and George S. Kaufman, and produced for the first time in 1936. Although times have certainly changed since 1936, the teme is still quite fresh today. Modern audiences will discover an evening of hilarious and heartwarming comedy.
Iowa River Players welcomes Will Groves from Jewell as a guest director. Inquireies regarding any facet of the productions (requests for a script to read, descriptions of available parts, volunteer opportunities, set building and rehearsal schedules, etc.) may be directed to Dale Arends, phone 641-853-2338..
